THE ALCHEMY OF DESIGN

The Story of
ARYAVASTU'DECOR

Architects Shikhar Gupta (Tej Arya Gupta) and Ankita Gupta (Annayah Arya Gupta) stood in the center of a nearly finished penthouse in Noida, overlooking the city skyline. The structure was a masterpiece of modern geometry, yet as they surveyed the space, they shared a silent, intuitive realization: the sleek, mass-produced finishes lacked a certain "soul." In the world of elite interiors, "luxury" had become a repetitive catalog choice.

Tej, with his sharp eye for structural boldness, and Annayah, with her deep appreciation for tactile heritage and intricate detailing, realized that their premium clients weren't just seeking expensive materials—they were seeking an identity. They wanted pieces that whispered stories of heritage while speaking the language of modern design.

Their conversation turned to the rhythmic "clink-clink" of the Adda frames they had encountered in the traditional workshops of India—the ancient, labor-intensive art of Zari and Zardosi. Together, they envisioned a bridge: transforming these traditional bridal techniques into "Architectural Couture."

By merging Tej’s vision for scale and form with Annayah’s mastery of texture and aesthetic harmony, ARYAVASTU DECOR was born. It wasn't just fabric; it was a legacy woven into the very skin of an interior.

EVERY THREAD SERVES A PURPOSE

The Craft: From Blueprints to Bone-Work

At Aryavastu Decor, the duo ensures that every thread serves a purpose. The process is a meticulous journey directed by architectural precision:

  1. Collaborative Conceptualization: Every project begins at the drawing board. Tej and Annayah curate a mood board where base materials—heavy organic linens, rich silks, or durable cotton-blends—are selected for their specific functional roles in a room.

  2. Bespoke Patterning: Moving beyond generic motifs, Annayah designs patterns inspired by architectural silhouettes, Vastu symbols, or geometric abstractions that complement the building’s layout.

  3. The Adda Workshop: The chosen fabric is stretched over traditional wooden Adda frames. Under the architects' supervision, master artisans spend hundreds of hours performing intricate hand-work:

    • Zari: Real metallic threads (Gold and Silver) that catch the light of a well-designed room.

    • Hand-Emroidery: For deep, tactile textures that invite touch.

    • 3D Detailing: Using Dabka and Nakshi to create "relief" effects on statement cushions and chair backs.

  4. Upholstery Integration: Once the fabric is perfected, it is tailored into custom curtains, cushions, or direct upholstery for signature furniture, ensuring a seamless fit with the interior’s proportions.
